Eco-designed pods for responsible offices

The construction sector uses vast resources and creates significant greenhouse gas emissions.
Since our beginning in 2018, we have chosen a path of sobriety and responsibility. Every decision, from design to manufacturing of Work With Island pods, is made to lower our environmental footprint.

This commitment to transparency and constant improvement led us to achieve B Corp Certification in 2025.

Summary

Eco-design
We use durable materials: insulation made from recycled jeans (Métisse®) and PEFC certified wood.
B Corp Commitment
We are a B Corp company since 2025. This certification confirms our commitment to transparency and the continuous improvement of our impact.
Social Impact
We provide over 50 jobs in Europe, working with partners committed to local and responsible production.
Controlled Carbon Footprint
Our Island Solo acoustic pod emits 481.4 CO2 over its entire lifecycle.

A responsible business.

Work With Island is dedicated to local production and short supply chains. This supports employment and expertise in Europe.
Our teams work daily to design durable acoustic pods and build partnerships based on trust.
Our goal is simple: measure impact to improve it better.

Local collaboration.

We work with trusted partners, operating with a simple and transparent approach.

High standards at every stage.

From design to assembly, every detail matters to guarantee impeccable quality.

Durable vision.

Products designed to last, reflecting our approach: responsible and sincere.

Everything is local, from raw materials to final assembly

01

Local and nearby sourcing

We select specialized, nearby partners in Europe to fully master our value chain, from the materials we source to the final assembly.

02

Quality control

Our local focus ensures we have full control over process flow and quality.
This guarantees high-quality manufacturing at every stage.

03

Short supply chain and positive impact

Choosing short supply chains limits transport costs and reduces our delivery travel distances.
This ensures a more responsible production.

04

Employment and expertise

Producing locally creates jobs for 50 people dedicated to making our pods.
This is our concrete impact on local employment.

An eco-designed acoustic pod.

By focusing on the product and the people who make it, we ensure that our largest expense goes towards labour.

Our goal is straightforward: to ensure every person in the chain is fairly paid. We prove that being fair helps build a competitive business model.

We design our pods as flat-pack kits. This simple approach has a double logistical advantage: it reduces storage space and allows for flat transport. Each truck can carry an optimal number of pods.

Manufacturing in Europe also allows us to shorten delivery distances. This commitment directly reduces our carbon footprint.

We are committed to helping protect the environment, and this guides many of our choices. The wood we use to build our pods comes from sustainable forests.

For soundproofing, we chose Métisse, a biosourced insulation with near-zero ecological impact because it contains 100% recycled fibres.

Why is Métisse made from jeans?

Jeans are the most worn clothing item in the world, but they are also among the most polluting. Making one pair of jeans requires hundreds of litres of water, pesticides, dyes, strong detergents, and millions of kilometers of transport.

To reduce the environmental impact of jeans, our partner, Le Relais, decided to repurpose them into insulating material called Métisse. While Métisse is widely used by property developers for its thermal insulation, Work With Island chose it for its exceptional acoustic properties.

Today, 40 recycled jeans are used to create the insulation for one Island Solo.

What is the environmental impact of our pods?

Work With Island uses the Waro platform to measure the environmental impact of its acoustic pods. This approach analyses all stages of our pod's lifecycle. It considers all environmental impacts produced at each step, from raw material extraction and transport to its end-of-life.

Using this tool, we know that our Island Solo pod emits 481.4 kg of CO2 over its entire lifecycle, which is the equivalent of driving 2,559 km in a car.

Good to know

For comparison, a pod that is not eco-designed emits the equivalent of 5,724 km in a car.

Our engineers work daily on the eco-design of our products to reduce their impact as much as possible.
