Work With Island - Eco-designed cabins made in France

Eco-designed cabins made in FranceFor responsible open space

The construction sector is one of the main contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. It contributes, among other things, to 23% of atmospheric pollution. It is also one of the largest operators of resources, half of which are non-renewable.
This is why since our creation in 2018, each of our decisions has been carefully considered in order to reduce our carbon footprint, from the design to the manufacture of the Islands.

A virtuous company

Since its inception, Work With Island has been committed to supporting local employment, starting with Made in France production. Every day, our teams work hard to design eco-designed acoustic pods and develop new partnerships with French factories.

Why did we decide
to produce in France ?

From the source of our materials to the final assembly, the entire production process is carried out locally, in order to maintain jobs and real skills in our regions. This 100% French production allows us to limit transport costs while ensuring a high quality finish, and the manufacturing stages are carried out by various partners spread throughout the country.
Our materials come from Pas-de-Calais and the Landes. Our certified "Origine France Garantie" factory is located in Vendee, where it manufactures the island cabins.
Its expertise ensures a local and committed to the well-being of all production. Manufacturing in France and in a short circuit also allows the creation of many jobs. No less than 50 people are employed in the manufacture of our soundproof pods .

emits over its entire lifecycle.
This is the equivalent of driving 2564 km

An eco-designed acoustic pod

A fair price

By focusing on the product and those who make it, we have chosen to devote our largest expenditure to labour. Our aim is to ensure that each player in the chain is paid fairly. We want to show that fairness is not an obstacle to building a competitive and profitable industrial model.

Kit delivery

Our kit design allows us to reduce storage space, simplify delivery and optimise the number of pods on a truck. In addition, by manufacturing our products in France, we shorten our delivery routes and limit our carbon footprint.

Recycled and sustainable materials

We are committed to protecting the environment and this drives many of our decisions. The wood we use to make our pods comes from sustainable forests. For the acoustics, we have chosen Métisse, a biodegradable insulation material that has a near-zero environmental impact because it contains 100% recycled fibres.

Why is the Métisse made of jeans?

Jeans are the most worn garment in the world, but also one of the most polluting. In fact, jeans alone require hundreds of litres of water, pesticides, dyes, powerful detergents and millions of kilometres of transport.

In order to reduce the environmental impact of jeans, our partner Le Relais has decided to convert them into insulating materials called Le Métisse. The latter is widely used by property developers because it insulates against cold and heat. But if Work With Island has chosen it, it's for its exceptional acoustic properties.
40 recycled jeans now make up the insulation of an Island SOLO.

What is the environmental impact of our cabins?

Work With Island uses the Waro platform to measure the environmental impact of its acoustic booths. This approach analyses all stages of our cabin cycle. It takes into account all the environmental impacts generated at each stage: from the extraction of raw materials, through transport, to the end of its life. Thanks to this tool, we know that our Island Solo cabin emits 494.9 kg of CO2 over its entire life cycle, the equivalent of driving 2,564 km. By comparison, a non-eco-designed pod emits the equivalent of driving 5,724 km. Our engineers work every day on the eco-design of our products to reduce their impact as much as possible.
